DM Academy

Former professional dancer, Deana Morgan, has been teaching and choreographing for nearly 30 years.  As 2nd place in the Miss Dance of Great Britain competition in 1981 she pursued a career in professional dance and has travelled extensively.  A five-year spell in London saw Deana performing in the West End and also teaching Jazz Dance at Pineapple Dance Studios in Covent Garden.  Deana recently returned to the professional stage in Gerry Cottle’s WOW! as a Golden Girl at the Palace Theatre, Paignton. 

After two Pantomime seasons at the Alhambra Theatre, Deana decided to make her home in Bradford, where she has been teaching and choreographing, prior to opening her own theatre dance school.  The school was formerly known as Dance Machine, but following significant growth now goes under the name of the D M Academy.  Deana's depth of experience in the profession enables her to advise students and parents on the possibilities open to those who wish to turn a hobby into a performing career. 

Deana is also a Director of Evolve Dance Ltd which delivers dance into schools and gives teaching support to Primary education teachers who wish to teach dance as part of the curriculum.  She is also an A1 Assessor with City & Guilds and delivers NVQ training in Activity Leadership: Dance.  Her most recently acquired qualification is ZUMBA, the Latin inspired dance and fitness workout which is sweeping the globe. Deana was the first instructor in Bradford and has quickly built a reputation as a Zumba instructor.
